Eurocopa Rumania 3 - 0 Bosnia-Herzegovina

A goal either side of half-time from Ciprian Marica helped Romania to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in their UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying Group D match.

Stuttgart striker Marcia scored a brace following Adrian Mutu's strike and Cristian Sapunaru saw a late penalty saved as Romania moved ahead of their opponents in the Group D table, although qualification for next summer's showpiece remains doubtful for both nations.

The early stages of the match were scrappy and it was not until Gabriel Muresan's effort on the half-hour mark that either side came close to breaking the deadlock. The FC Cluj midfielder found himself in space inside the area, but could only fire his shot straight at Kenan Hasagic in the Bosnian goal.

The hosts were ahead six minutes later when full-back Razvan Rat picked out Mutu in the box and the Fiorentina striker made no mistake, firing past Hasagic and high into the net. Rat was the catalyst for Romania's second in the 40th minute when another cross into the box was converted by Marica from close range.

The game was put beyond reasonable doubt ten minutes into the second half when Marica scored his second with a smart finish from inside the area.

Bosnia had offered little going forward but Zvjezdan Misimovic, who replaced the ineffectual Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko after 64 minutes, had two chances to pull a goal back. He forced Romania's goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu into a close-range save and moments later rifled an effort over the bar when well placed as the visitors tried to find a way back into the game.

Misimovic was then caught in his own box in injury time when trying to help with the team's defensive duties, but the Dynamo Moscow striker brought down the lively Gabriel Torje. However, Hasagic managed to keep out Sapunaru's penalty with relative ease.
